Introduction Post

Post your introduction on the Course Teams Social Channel/Tab and not the General Channel/Tab
Let’s get to know one another!

We are more than just a collection of random people studying the same material; we are, in fact, a community! Research has shown we’re all better off in this way so let’s get to know one another

Using the questions below you will introduce yourself in the #social channel of our team. You should be using this assignment as a means of becoming familiar with how to use Teams and its various formatting and interaction features.

Once this is done, read your classmates’ introductions and reply to some. Aim for replying to those that have no replies yet! Remember, you’ll likely be seeing these folks again in other classes!

Please be proactive in these kinds of assignments and do your best to include individuals that haven’t had responses yet. If you wait until the last day of the week to post it makes ‘dialogue’ very difficult. These timely participation/response items generally result in better outcomes for everyone. Use the following questions as a guide but feel free to share as much as you are comfortable sharing.

  1. Who are you? (Name, where you’re from, what characterizes/identifies you, etc)
  2. Identify the general region in which you reside. Tucson? Amsterdam? Middle of the ocean? The Moon?
  3. Major/minor/emphasis/specialty… what are you studying and what are you good at?
  4. Why are you taking this class?
  5. Favorite past-time/activity/hobby?
  6. Briefly explain your experience with online or hybrid classes.
  7. Give your peers a bit of friendly advice you’ve gathered on how to complete classes successfully (generally, specifically with your instructor, or both). If this is your first, what questions do you have?
  8. What do you think of when you think statistics?
  9. Something else interesting about you.
