We’re using Posit Cloud!
Posit Cloud
- Visit posit.cloud and
Sign up with your university email. Username: FirstNameLastName(Use the Posit URL in the Announcement to access Posit Cloud once you have signed up). - Use the link provided to you in the D2L Course Announcement.
- That’s it! You can now begin working on your R projects!
POSIT Cloud will send a confirmation email to your school email address. If you do not see the email, please check your junk or spam folder for messages from POSIT Cloud.
If you do not receive the email because the school's spam filter is blocking POSIT Cloud messages, follow these steps:

Open the following link in your browser:
https://arizona.login-usb.mimecast.com/u/login/?gta=apps#/login - Sign in using your email credentials.
- Select Mimecast Personal Portal.
- Review any emails that are being held, blocked, or quarantined.
- Release/allow/permit the POSIT Cloud email to your inbox, if applicable.
- Confirm that the email is now delivered.
- Open the POSIT Cloud email and click the confirmation link to verify your account.

Please note that things might not really kick in on Posit Cloud until the technical first day of the semester.
Each project is considered an Assignment, so begin with the START HERE Introduction to R project by clicking START and following the instructions. This will provide you with:
- An introduction to Quarto files
- Various primers on using R
- A much deeper look at Quarto
- An absolutely invaluable primer on
tidysyntax
Note that these project templates are what you will use to do your activities in this class but you will still need to submit your files to the dropboxes in the LMS. So the process for completing these assignments will generally go like this:
- Complete the module’s readings/videos
- Attend the live class meeting or watch the recording
- Read the assignment page on this website
- Complete the assignment using the Cloud project
- Download the
qmdandPDFfiles - Do the assignment Grading Declaration quiz in the LMS
- Submit the
qmdandPDFto the now-opened dropbox (Submit the files separately; do not upload a zip file!)
